Bikepacking the Tahoe Rim Trail: Mt. Rose to Strawberry, CA

IMG_5256.jpgOne of the ideas my buddies and I have been conjuring for a few months now is to bikepack the ridable section of the Tahoe Rim Trail in California in 3 days. We had a lot of pScreen Shot 2016-08-03 at 8.32.19 PM.pnglanning and logistics to get Chris away for the weekend, Mike from Korea, Sean and myself away from work to make this happen. We were super stoked to set out on the route shown in the map. This combines the best part of the Mt. Rose area, all the way to the special newly designated IMBA Epic from Armstrong Pass to Strawberry (where you ride off the backside of Lover’s Leap Cliff!).

This was our first “real” bikepacking trip, with gear loaded for 3 days of self-sufficiency. Needless to say, we learned a lot.

Check out the action from the trip in the video below!

Dinners and Ride Food all lined up and my dad testing out my bivy set up in the safety of the family room!
